Ebrahim Sameni, born in 1949 in Tehran, was drawn to the delicate art of jewelry making from a very young age. With a natural gift for detail, sharp eyes, and exceptional hand craftsmanship, he quickly entered the world of fine jewelry. Under the mentorship of master jewelers, he mastered the intricate techniques of diamond setting and jewelry design, soon becoming one of Iran’s finest. His talent and innovation were so profound that many leading jewelers sought his expertise, and several renowned diamond setters began their journey under his tutelage.
The Birth of Sameni Jewelry
As Ebrahim’s reputation soared, he envisioned creating something of his own—something that reflected his passion, precision, and legacy. In 1963, he opened his first jewelry shop and workshop in Tehran’s historic Gold & Jewelry Bazaar under the name “Sameni-Pavilion Jewelry.” The name carried deep meaning: “Sameni” honored his family name, while “Pavilion” symbolized the cone of a diamond—a tribute to his love for gems and his mastery in diamond setting. From the very beginning, Sameni Jewelry was built as a family business, with Ebrahim’s vision supported by his loved ones who played key roles in its development and operations. Soon after, to simplify the name and make it more recognizable to a growing clientele, the brand evolved into “Sameni Jewelry (Pavilion),” since many clients and professionals in the industry knew the brand as “Pavilion” or “Sameni-Pavilion.” From the start, the boutique attracted both direct clients and fellow jewelers who admired the distinct style and superior craftsmanship of its pieces.
The Spark of Expansion
Driven by growing demand, Ebrahim expanded his business beyond the traditional bazaar. In 1988, he opened a boutique and workshop in Tehran’s upscale Pasdaran Avenue, bringing Sameni Jewelry to a more diverse and high-profile clientele. By 1995, the boutique had grown into a full-fledged headquarters, featuring a multi-level showroom, design and photography studio, production workshop, office space, and a private lounge to serve VIP clients.
As demand continued to rise, Sameni Jewelry opened additional locations in various parts of Tehran, making the brand even more accessible while maintaining its core values of elegance, artistry, and excellence.
A Voice Within the Industry
Throughout his journey, Ebrahim Sameni not only built a leading jewelry house but also gave back to the industry that shaped him. He became a long-standing member of Tehran’s Jewellers Association and Union, serving actively on the union’s committee for 12 consecutive years. His contributions helped shape ethical standards, education, and professional development in Iran’s jewelry industry, earning him deep respect among peers and the next generation of artisans.
Continuing this rich journey, Master Ebrahim Sameni now teaches the art of jewelry making and gem setting to hundreds of students each year as a professor at Pars University. Through sharing his invaluable experience and techniques, he plays a vital role in shaping the next generation of artisans. His outstanding contributions to education have earned him multiple awards from the university.
Shining at Prestigious Exhibitions
In 2006, Sameni Jewelry participated in Tehran’s International Jewelry Exhibition, receiving a special award for its striking booth and exquisite designs. The brand continued to participate in both private and public exhibitions, curating collections that spoke to the heritage and innovation at its core.
In 2013, Sameni Jewelry marked its 50th anniversary with a grand private event at Khaneye Hamayesh, one of Tehran’s most luxurious venues. Guests were treated to live music, curated gourmet offerings, and an immersive journey through decades of Sameni’s craftsmanship, with exclusive pieces created specifically for the event. Crossing Continents, Creating Connections
After decades of success in Iran, Sameni Jewelry stepped into the international spotlight by establishing a presence in Toronto, Canada, in 2016. Starting with cultural festivals, designer markets, and exclusive pop-up events, the brand introduced its rich legacy to North America. Events like Tirgan International Festival, Nowrouzgan, Divan, Yeki Bood Yeki Nabood, Touran, and Soor became platforms where Sameni Jewelry shared its heritage with new audiences.
To expand its reach, Sameni Jewelry launched its online boutique, offering worldwide shipping and showcasing its elegant 18K gold pieces adorned with natural precious and semi-precious gemstones, all meticulously crafted in-house.
